All project registration forms must be accompanied by the Connecticut
Science Fair Research Plan.
Biological research involving animal, humans, pathogenic agents,
or recombinant DNA is not allowed except in institutional/industrial
settings with proper supervision.
Projects involving any of the following areas require additional
forms and approval by an institutional review board prior to the
start of research.
- Human Subjects
- Nonhuman Vertebrate Animals
- Pathogenic Agents, Controlled Substances, Recombinant DNA
- Human or Animal Tissue

All projects involving human subject questionnaires require prior
approval by an Institutional Review Board. The board may be that

or the CSF Scientific Review Committee.
All students must submit the state fair registration, research
plan, and release forms. Other forms required by the International

High school students entering the CSF with the ultimate goal of
competing at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair
are advised to submit their research plans as early as possible
for review by the CSF Scientific Review Committee.
Projects which fail to comply will be disqualified.
A detailed explanation of the International Science and Engineering
Fair rules and regulations is given in "International Rules
