> Dr. Shawn's Super Science Fair Support Center - An incredible collection of complete science fair projects by Dr. Shawn Carlson, a MacArthur Fellow and editor of the Scientific American's "The Amateur Scientist" column for six years.

> Tryscience Features virtual field trips, virtual experiments and other interactive activities supplied by science centers around the world.

> Nye Labs Bill Nye, the science guy.

> Intel Science Talent Search - "America’s oldest and most highly regarded pre-college science contest... Each year the STS helps the nation find and encourage especially talented high school seniors to pursue careers in science, math, engineering and medicine."

> Connecticut Junior Sciences and Humanities Symposium - "JSHS invites high school students to conduct an original research investigation in the sciences, engineering, or mathematics, and to participate in a regional or state symposium sponsored by universities or other academic institutions.

> Connecticut Invention Convention - Using the Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) curriculum, participating schools teach inventing to their students in grades K - 8. Their goal is to give students an unforgettable experience in using knowledge and creativity to solve real-world problems.


> Siemens Westinghouse Science & Technology Competition - "The Siemens Foundation provides more than $ 1 million in college scholarships and awards each year for talented high school students in the United States... reward exceptional achievement in science, mathematics and technology."

>Young Scientist Challenge– CSF Middle School trophy winners are quarterfinalists in this new and different competition. All 5th to 8th students are eligible to compete. You don't need a science project just science knowledge.

COMPETE AT CT SCIENCE FAIR TO WIN INVITATIONS TO THESE NATIONAL COMPETITIONS

> Society for Science & The Public Middle School Program - CT Science Fair's middle school trophy winners receive invitations to compete in this national competition that awards 30 trips to Washington, DC and opportunity to win scholarship prizes.

> I-SWEEEP (International Sustainable World Project Olympiad) - At the CT Science Fair one high senior and her/his advisor will an all expense-paid trip to compete in this international competition seeking student solutions to the planet's sustainability. 10-15 CSF finalists will receive invitations to compete and if selected will receive food, lodging, and local travel while at the competition.

RELATED SCIENCE FAIRS

> Intel International Science and Engineering Fair - The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is the world's largest pre-college celebration of science. Held annually in May, the Intel ISEF brings together nearly 1,500 students from more than 40 nations to compete for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prize: a $50,000 college scholarship. The four top high school winners of CT Science Fair's individual project categories receive all expense-paid trips to compete in the Intel ISEF.

> Science Horizons - An affiliate fair of CSF. Science Horizons is a partnership of education and industry in the Danbury, CT region.

> New Haven Science Fair - An affiliate fair of CSF. The goal of the program is to work with New Haven school children and teachers from K to 12, to help them carry out investigative hands-on science fair projects.

> WWW Library - an attempt to provide a single comprehensive list of every science fair accessible through the World Wide Web, whether of global or local scope.

SCIENCE TEACHERS LINKS

>eesmarts' Energy Education Workshop– For middle school teachers. Check for future workshops. Typical offerings are .6 CEU credit, $100 stipend for completing program. Presented by PIMMS of Wesleyan University.
